Businesses in the Five Towns and beyond supporting The Prince of Wales Hospice through Club 5.
Club 5 Kicks Off
Twilo are proud to be inaugural members of Club 5, a network that helps make the most of a link to a vital local charity, The Prince of Wales Hospice. PWH provide palliative care and support for patients with life-limiting illnesses and their families. They created Club 5 to engage with local businesses to raise awareness and funds for the Hospice.
Delivering Quality (of Life) Service
The Prince of Wales Hospice cares for patients with any life-limiting illness, including cancer, motor neurone disease and chronic heart and lung disease. PWH care for anyone over the age of 18, either as a visiting out-patient, or on the ward where they offer 24-hour specialist care. The Hospice helps people live better with their illness, with over half who stay with them eventually returning home. Many choose the safety and dignity of the Hospice for care at the end of their life.
The Cost of Care
It costs over £3 million a year to keep the Hospice open. They only receive around 25% of this from the NHS, leaving the rest to be fundraised from people and companies in the local area. Club 5 provides a forum for like minded local businesses, with a common focus of increasing vital donations for patient care (often borne from personal experience of the Hospice), to meet and discuss how to add value to the PWH cause whilst simultaneously promoting local economic growth through networking.
